On May 10, the reporter learned from Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of ecological environment that Liwan District branch of Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of ecological environment had recently investigated and dealt with a case of "red sewage" pollution of rivers.
During the May 1st holiday, Liwan District branch was informed that there was a red water body in the western suburb of qiaozhong street. The Bureau immediately organized law enforcement and monitoring personnel to arrive at the scene for investigation and treatment. After investigation, it was found that the Construction Party of the pollution control project in Chengzhong Village of xixingwei Street dumped the red color developing agent into the pipe network without authorization to trace the source in order to find the trend of the nearby sewage pipe network. The incident caused the red sewage to flow to Xijiao bay through the rainwater pipe network, causing the water bodies of Xijiao Bay and Shatan bay to turn red in a large area.
After identifying the source of pollution, the ecological environment department requires the construction party to stop pumping water, and carry out law enforcement inspection and interview with the person in charge. At the same time, coordinating with the Bureau of agriculture and water resources and the drainage center of the District, the sluice gates at both ends of Xijiao Bay and Shatan bay were closed in an emergency manner, which prevented the red sewage from flowing to the Pearl River in time and did not affect the waters of the Pearl River and Jiangxi waterway. Subsequently, the construction company shall be urged to adopt sand surrounding and blocking to ensure that the sewage is controlled within the minimum range. According to the requirements of the District Bureau of agriculture and water resources, about 22 tons of red sewage were pumped away and further treated. At 19:00 on the same day, the work of red water pumping was basically completed. By 9 o'clock on May 4, the water quality of Xijiao bay had returned to normal and had no impact on the surrounding waters.
The reporter learned that since April, the ecological environment department of Guangzhou has started special law enforcement actions for key sections of national and provincial examinations to help improve environmental quality and ensure environmental safety. Up to now, 414 enterprises have been inspected and 25 environmental violations or daily management problems have been found. Next, in May, it is planned to focus on the spot check of shijinghekou, donglang and other sections.
According to statistics, from January to April this year, 411 cases of environmental violations were filed, 350 cases were punished, and the total fine was 37.58 million yuan.
