According to Xinhua news agency, Stefan kapferrer, President of the German Federal Energy and Water Resources Economic Association, said recently that the number of charging piles for electric vehicles in Germany is growing rapidly, and the number of public charging piles currently reaches 20650, an increase of more than 50% over the same period last year. But there is still a need to accelerate the expansion of charging piles near residential and office areas.
At present, Germany's public charging infrastructure can meet the demand, but there is an urgent need to increase private charging piles near homes and offices. Kapferrer called on the government to amend the law to reduce procedural restrictions on the construction of charging piles near homes. According to the existing laws in Germany, the construction of charging piles in residential communities requires the consent of all residents and house lessors.
"Increasing the charging infrastructure is a necessary prerequisite for expanding the electric vehicle market, and also provides a lot of opportunities for the battery, charging, smart grid technology and other industries," said Mullen brentep, an energy expert at the Federal Foreign Trade and investment agency
According to a research report released by the German automobile management center, an automobile market research organization, Germany became the largest electric vehicle sales market in Europe for the first time in the first half of this year. According to the latest data of German Federal Motor vehicle administration, as of the beginning of 2019, the number of electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles in Germany is about 420000.
Germany originally planned to achieve the goal of 1 million electric vehicles on the road by 2020, and introduced a series of policies such as supporting battery research, increasing charging piles, providing subsidies for electric vehicle purchase, etc. But experts estimate that this goal may be delayed.
